Admedia Communications has officially partnered with GIZ Global to capture the stories of women founders and entrepreneurs across 5 countries – Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, and Mozambique – participating in the #TeamEurope funded initiative, Investing in Young Businesses in Africa: Women Entrepreneurship for Africa (IYBA-WE4A).
IYBA WE4A is a regional flagship initiative designed to unlock the full potential of women entrepreneurs across Sub-Saharan Africa by creating a dynamic, inclusive, and green African economy powered by innovative women-led start-ups and MSMEs. The programme equips entrepreneurs with the tools, partnerships, and pathways they need to scale—helping them grow sustainable businesses, access finance, and lead transformative change in their communities and sectors.
Admedia is producing video impact stories, written human interest stories, green business podcast discussions, photography, and creating programme explainer videos for cohort participants. We document the journey of the green entrepreneurs from induction, to training from the Tony Elemelu Foundation, to market access through national trade fair exhibitions and activities, to the impact of seed funding and business development support offered by the programme.

For Admedia, this assignment was a chance to let women entrepreneurs and their communities speak for themselves. Across four very different businesses, the message was consistent: when women receive training, funding and room to grow, the benefits reach households, farms and markets well beyond their own enterprises.
