On Tuesday 22nd October 2024, we held a productive co-creation workshop with the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF), aimed at developing a comprehensive communications and digital media strategy. The workshop brought together representatives from various departments, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in creating an effective communication strategy.

“The role of communication and advocacy in helping people adapt to mechanization and the wealth of its contribution to agriculture and a food-sustainable Africa cannot be stressed enough!” stated Dr. Kanangire, the AATF Chief Executive Officer, during the co-creation workshop facilitated by Admedia Communications. His insights underscored the critical role that effective communication plays in promoting agricultural advancements, which are vital for the continent‟s future.

One of the key takeaways from the workshop was the understanding that the benefits of building resilience in Africa‟s agricultural sector through biotech, extend beyond the current generation. A well crafted communication strategy can foster awareness and drive adoption of innovative practices, ensuring sustainable growth for years to come.

Co-creation emerged as a crucial element in the development of the communications strategy. Typically, organizations might exclude certain departments from the communication planning process, leading to fragmented strategies that fail to leverage the full potential of the organization‟s resources.
