Airtel is one of the biggest telecommunications companies around the world and in Kenya. However, the company faces stiff competition from other equally big players in the Kenyan market including Safaricom and Telkom.
One of the most contested areas by the telecommunications companies in Kenya is the mobile money which is currently used by more than 40million Kenyans, transacting an estimated Kshs.3.98 trillion ($38.5 billion) in 2018 alone according to a report which was released that year by the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).
Airtel’s goal is to expand its market share by availing Airtel Money services to more people in all the 47 counties in the country.
