On 18th July 2025, school children between the ages of 9 to 18, coaches and officials gathered at the Kasarani Sports Complex basketball court to engage in a series of basketball matches and clinic. The event was part of the Basketball Experience by the French Development Agency (AFD) and the NBA who aim to spread awareness on the importance of gender equality, confidence and public speaking through sport.
Admedia Communications supported the coordination and execution of the event through event venue setup, media relations and management, documentation through photography and videography, development of communications and visibility materials, and guest coordination.
The Basketball Experience event in Kasarani marked the first anniversary of the program, and the last activity of 2025. Since its launch, it has reached more than 36,000 school children within Nairobi County, and is in operation in 48 schools, 4 of which are for children with special needs.
The Kasarani event was attended by the French Ambassador to Kenya and Somalia, HE Arnaud Suquet; Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Africa, NBA, Ope Lawal; CEO of Kenya Academy of Sports, Dr. Doreen Odhiambo; Deputy Secretary General of the Kenya Red Cross, Mr. Joe Mbalu; and AFD Country Director, Mrs. Anne Gael Chapuis.
