In May 2025, the Science for Africa Foundation, the University of Oxford’s Pandemic Sciences Institute, and the Mastercard Foundation convened over 200 scientists, policymakers, and thought leaders at Ole Sereni Hotel, Nairobi, for the Africa Pandemic Sciences Collaborative Inception Meeting.
The meeting marked the launch of a continental initiative aimed at mentoring and equipping the next generation of African scientists to strengthen pandemic preparedness across Africa. The event featured plenary sessions, policy dialogues, finance workshops, and leadership conversations running concurrently throughout the day.
Admedia Communications was contracted to design and deliver the full event experience, from concept to execution. The team built and managed two complete stages, each designed with a unique atmosphere and function: a grand plenary setup for keynote addresses and cultural performances, and a breakout space optimized for collaboration and exchange.
Admedia ensured seamless transitions between sessions, rapid stage transformations, and immersive experiences that blended technical precision with creative design. The venue came alive with thematic setups, warm cultural elements, and curated ambiance – from the rooftop dinner overlooking the Nairobi skyline to the smooth coordination of specialized workshops.
Through its event design, production, and management, Admedia created an environment that reflected the spirit of scientific collaboration and innovation that defines Africa’s growing leadership in pandemic preparedness.
