The Co-operative Bank is one of the leading commercial banks in banks in Kenya serving more than 20 million Kenyans as of 2020.
2020 was a year that was marred by the Covid-19 pandemic which affected most businesses. During these trying times, Co-operative Bank had their customers at heart and in mind and designed a virtual challenge dubbed Akili Kali Challenge so as to develop innovations to support thousands of Co-operative members earning a living, saving, and investing through the Co-operative movement. The aim of the Akili Kali Innovation Challenge, which was supported by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), was to enable Co-op Bank to identify and collaborate with passionate innovators in building the next generation of financial solutions that are beneficial to the Co-operative Movement and its membership of over 20 million Kenyans.
Our client needed a Media Agency that would be able to tell their story and to capture visuals for the Akili Kali Challenge. Admedia was tasked with shooting the mini-documentary of the project which attracted over 508 technology companies with only five financial technology (Fintech) firms being shortlisted after a rigorous selection process.
